This will be a very busy weekend, and since I will be off-line all day Sunday I am saying

This evening we will brave NYC Friday evening traffic to attend my sister-in-law's adult bat-mitzvah in New Rochelle. Shoshana sewed her a new talit, and she will post a photo of Sharon wearing it on FB. We will no doubt get home quite late which means I won't get to bed until the wee hours of the morning. We plan to sleep late, skip Shabbat morning services and instead go straight to our shul's pot luck lunch at a member's home.

Sunday morning we're driving upstate to attend our PSJC's one day getaway (this year there will be no sleep over to make it more affordable in today's economy) and won't get home until evening; I hope we make it home by 7 PM so we're finished with dinner and I'm out of the shower by 9 PM for True Blood.

Our siblings and parents all had other plans this year, so we hosted our own vegetarian Thanksgiving dinner. ( Read more... )

I made the mistake of complaining about Shoshana's choice in clothes last week--a faux pas that cost me a trip to the mall today. The fact is she buys much more flattering apparel when I tag along, and she does enjoy the attention. She picked out and took into the changing room numerous garments all of which she rejected. While she was in the changing room I found some more suitable choices from which she chose the following (the blue dress is from H&M and the deep purple is from Macy's:
