None of the bills emerging from either the House or the Senate require insurers to cover all of the elements of a basic gynecological "well-woman" visit leaving out essential care such as pelvic exams, STI counseling and - yes - birth control.

Am not surprised that women get bitch-slapped legislatively. Get hold of your senators--there's still a shot that these will be included in the Senate bill. Keep in mind that the original Social Securty Act didn't cover all those who are now covered.

But I'm still pissed about this House bill being watered down like this.
