I observe that my nieces have much more enthusiasm for colorforms than my nephews; must be a gender thing. When I was 3 I loved my tricycle and also enjoyed playdough, but back then big wheels, atari, weebles, and hotwheels were not even on the toy companies' drawing boards. I don't think I've ever seen a hollyhobby.

Besides playing with Colorforms (we had several sets), I played with Playschool people in a little city center: barber shop, post office, cafe and such. We had an airplane as part of that set, too. I never played with Barbies, Holly Hobbies or any other dolls. I liked creating scenarios with the playschool people, but I really wasn't into the fluff and fashion of dolls. I was not adventurous in any area but language, so big wheels were "scary." I did things like organized a local store, got the kids together for variety shows performed in our garage, organized the kids for a pretend school. Hmmm. It seems like I was really bossy then. (As I am now, I confess.) If you were in my neighborhood, I would have run screaming for the porch when I saw you and your big wheel coming down the sidewalk.

Porch? We lived in a Manhattan apartment building. Sounds like you played indoors and avoided the playground. My only dolls were toy soldiers whom I would arrange in elaborate battle formations. A favorite activity was combining various medicines and chemical cleaners to create poisons to be used against imaginary enemies. I also liked rock climbing and exploring construction sites. I wasn't so much bossy as dominant and aggressive. I enjoyed fighting with other boys and seeing how intimately the girls would let me touch them. I also liked to tie up playmates of both genders. I guess I was a pretty kinky kid.

Wow. You had a drastically different childhood than mine. I grew up in the so. cal. suburbs (orange county) in a place that looked a lot like the setting for E.T. I guess "kinky" could be a word, but I think adventerous has better connotations. Thanks for finding that cool retro toy quiz.

You're welcome. Adventurous is a more neutral adjective. When I was 9 and a half we moved from Manhattan to New Rochelle in suburban Westchester county (where my parents still live), but by then I'd outgrown my toys and was more interested in books, music, bike riding (as a form of adventurous exploration), and sports.
