According to my LJ Inbox 20 hours ago one of my LJ friends posted an entry which I am not authorized to view. I wonder whose post it is and what exactly that person doesn't want me to see.

ps: By comparing my LJ Inbox with my email Inbox I figured out who it was, and the subject line of the post which I am forbidden to see hints at what.

Now that I think about it some of my posts have not been available to all my friends. If you've ever gotten a "you are not authorized to see this post" message on one of my posts let me assure you that I have not been talking about you behind your back; rather the post in question is directed at someone in particular and does not concern anyone else.

thats why I never do filters anymore. Ive seen it done to me enough times and Its very easy to check whether they've posted anything at any point that you are not allowed to see. Its not a pleasant feeling to wonder if what they are hiding from you is something you ought to know, and I wouldnt put anyone else through that. once in a while I used to do what you do and make posts to specific people, but by and large my only locked entries these days are private ones that nobody except for me gets to see. I havent made one of those in a couple of years now.

LJ should add a direct message feature such as those found on Facebook and Tweeter which would eliminate the need for posts to a specific person. There is a place for filters, however, and I have opted out of ones dedicated to topics that do not engage my interest.

yes, there is a good looking gal on my f-list who has a "post naked pics of myself" filter. I definitely opted in on that one.

still the recipe for drama is that that stupid thing on the profile page logs all posts to your journal, not just public ones, and the last time it was updated.

LJ's look and feel is starting to seem dated compared to other Web 2.0 sites; it could use a makeover which one hopes would also fix the problem of locked posts showing up in one's Inbox.
