Egypt confirms Israel-Hamas truce to begin Thursday morning
Pros: The truce will provide a respite for the residents of Israel's southern cities Sderot, Netiviot, and Ashkelon.
Cons: Such an agreement will strengthen Hamas in its conflict with its Palestinian rival Fatah which in turn may jeopardize a weakened Fatah's ability to negotiate an end to the overall Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The truce will also enable Hamas to rearm itself with more destructive longer range rockets.
