Follow up to the earlier contraception issue post.

We met Shoshana's new gynecologist yesterday, and she is wonderful (I was there as an interested party to the issue of choosing a form of contraception). She sees no reason Shoshana should not continue taking hormonal contraceptives for the next 3-4 years, but is switching her to a lower dose pill. We are pleased.

the pill scares me. putting all those hormones in you doesn't seem right. i tried it for 1/2 a year and had really strong side effects, and lots of my friends did too when they tried it... i prefer using a diaphragm.

Diaphragms have a 20% failure rate. No form of contraception fits everyone perfectly. In Shoshana's case the pros of the pill outweigh the cons.
