I haven't worked enough to qualify for ss; sometime in the next 14-15 years I'm going to have to do some paid work or create fictional self-employment and pay into the system enough to qualify.

that really says somethying shitty about our country when this is the only way a someone feels they can have a roof over their heads.

In my hometown we had group of 'regulars' at our jail......when the weather was bad, or when the monthly check ran out, these few homeless/poor guys would get aressted for drunk or loitering........[psssst dont tell anybody, but the D.A. and police would 'help' these guys by asking judges to sentence them to longer terms just to give them shelter.....the men liked that arrangement too.]
