We read it in 12th grade. There are some good translations from the Anglo-Saxon.

I got The Hobbit.

There are supposedly numerous references to The Crying of Lot 49 scattered throughout The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai.

I never got into Tolkien. The description of Buckaroo Bonzai on Amazon sounds like a comic book character.
