Dr. Lillian Milgram Schapiro (1902–2006)

In her day very few women were admitted to medical schools and there were quotas limiting the number of Jewish applicants accepted. I find it interesting that her interest in the humanities predated her medical career and that she returned to the world or arts and letters when she retired.
