When I was 15, I was preparing a piece for dinner theater. I wanted to do Leher's Masochism Tango. My director was going to be my accompanist, and he kept asking for my sheet music. I had intended to give it to him right before the performance. He insisted I give it to him a couple of days before, so I gave him the sheet music without the lyrics. He insisted I run through it with him. I got through "I long for the touch of your lips dear, but much more for the touch of your whips dear" and he stopped me. He said, "No, Gerber. You better have another piece ready. " lol. I handed him my book with poisoning pigeons in the park. While he liked the song, he refused to let me sing that one either. Our families and staff at the school would be there.
