what else is new. this was my primary objection to bush back in 04. his stacking of the boards of medical and science related organizations with pseudoscientists who were essentially the running joke of the scientific community beforehand. mixing politics with science, and instituting it as policy is, as far as I am concerned, the crime of crimes. more than anything else bush does wrong, this sort of thing really twists my nuts.
That having been said as far as I know all of the laws in question also require that said pharmacists refer the patient or the prescription to a pharmacy or pharmacist who WILL fill it. Some state regulations dont even allow that, and actually require the pharmacist fill the prescription within the pharmacy, even if it means calling in a pharmacist who will fill it in the middle of the night.the courts have as far as I know ruled against the pharmacist in wisconsin who not only refused to fill the scrip but also refused to return it or transfer the information to another pharmacy. That girl is nicer than I am. I would have jumped over the counter and started pounding the fucker til he or she gave it back. regardless its still wrong, but at least they cant actively prevent the woman in question from receiving the drugs, they can only refuse to participate in it themselves.
