What they got right:

e-commerce
the use of electronics to implement a virtual panopticon.
online banking
e-mail

RAID

What they got wrong:

interface details
the paradigm of the American family.

Really, it boggles the mind how this work is capable of envisioning future technology with such accuracy, but at the same time seems incapable of imagining a major paradigm shift in family dynamics. This may of course be that ultimately, in the face of feminism's rising tide, this piece has a subtext of portraying the status quo as immutable.

It was probably made by men most of whom were clueless in 1967 that the paradigm of the American family might ever change. Around that time my mom chatted with Alfred Kazin at a cocktail party (my dad teaches college English), and when he asked what she did and she replied that she was home with kids and substitute taught he made a condescending remark.
