Thought for food: ethical and environmentally sustainable kashrut

Several articles in JTA explore changing the definition of Kashrut to require that the workers who help bring the food to market are treated fairly and that the food be grown in an environmentally resonsible manner.
These include
a proposed conservative hechsher that would require that food workers be fairly treated and have safe working conditions.
