hard to say, since I don't know what deceased female relatives had no namesakes yet in your family.

Unless of course your parents didn't follow that practice?

Hint: I'm referring to what would have been my English (not Hebrew) name, so the deceased relatives part would not have come into play.

not so fast. I was named (Hebrew name I admit) for one of my mother's uncles. But my English name is derived from that.

In the event since I'm a guy I was named for my maternal gradfather, but had I been born female I would have been given a name unrelated to any deceased relative just because my parents liked the name.
