Oct. 7th, 2007 03:47 pm20 years ago I was selling mortgages and student teaching; Shoshana and I moved from Staten Island to Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. We had recently celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary and joined Kane Street Synagogue.
15 years ago I had just completed my second masters degree (in creative writing--my masters thesis would become my first poetry ebook "Glued To The Sky"), began writing my second poetry ebook "JFK: Lines of Fire," and was teaching freshman composition at a local college. We would buy our current apartment two years later and move from Carroll Gardens to Windsor Terrace.
10 years ago I was translating the poems in Rachel Eshed's Little Promises and the swollen ankle that had afflicted me for the previous 14 years was finally diagnosed as primary lower limb lymphedema.
5 years ago I was trying to find publishers for the poetry collections mentioned above, was learning to manage my lymphedema, and was going to the gym four or five days per week. A year later my two poetry ebooks would be published and I would join Live Journal.
2 years ago Mayapple Press agreed to publish Little Promises. I would spend the better part of the next year discussing which poems would make the cut with the publisher/editor and making required revisions.
1 year ago I was looking for opportunities to do poetry readings to promote Little Promises. I had recently met some of my Live Journal friends in person for the first time.

bethr and I began work on I Am My Beloved's.
Yesterday I went to the bar-mitzvah of the son of a couple I will interview for I Am My Beloved's. Shoshana and I recently left Kane Street Synagogue and joined Park Slope Jewish Center.
Today I am watching the Giants-Jets game and will go to dinner with my parents this evening.
Tomorrow I will contact a few of the local couples who have expressed an interest in being interviewed for I Am My Beloved's and set dates for those interviews.
