History of Sex Walking Tour (x-posted in newyorkers)

For medical reasons I no longer do walking tours; they entail much more standing than walking. Too bad; this sounds like fun.

History of Sex and Sexuality:
Jewish Lower East Side Walking Tour
This tour presents a history of the Jewish presence on the Lower East Side, illuminating the history of Jewish prostitution, pornography, and the undergarment industry. The tour will also highlight some of the early Jewish pioneers in the fields of birth control and reproductive rights. With a pickle-eating contest and stops inside some of the oldest and most unique synagogues in the city as well as some of the best fetish shops in New York - this tour is not to be missed!
