This week marks the 62nd anniversary of Brooklyn artist and holocaust survivor Fred Terna's liberation on April 27, 1945 by the US Army outside Landsberg in Bavaria, south-west of Munich. From now until May 18, Fred Terna’s art is on exhibit at the Carol Shen Gallery at the Packer Collegiate Institute,170 Joralmeon Street, between Court and Clinton. The 29 pieces are presented with short descriptions explaining their background and inspiration. There are many connections to Biblical stories, the Holocaust, Jerusalem, Jewish ritual objects, and other religious themes. The exhibit is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.
