The good news is that everyone said I read very well; that the fellow who organized the reading is dating a rabbi who may be able to organize a reading for me at her very large congregation; and a member of the audience who works at Poets House said he will recommend that his employer buy "Little Promises" for the collection (he apologized that he didn't bring cash & couldn't buy a copy then & there).
The bad news is that I only sold one book. So I'll view it as a good dress rehearsal. Only one of the several friends who had emailed me saying they would come actually showed up, but she brought her straight-laced mother, and when I left the stage they had already left. She obviously missed the adjective "erotic" in the description of the poems.
