Last week my 4 year old (5 in June) niece Rachel had her adenoids removed. The surgeon found polyps which also had to be removed, but the prognosis is positive, and Rachel is fully recovered.
Monday my dad had surgery to correct a urinary tract problem resulting from radiation treatment a decade ago and prostate surgery 5 years ago. For the past 4 years he's been using a plastic valve to control urinary function, but it's doubtful that the valve can be reinserted which means he'll likely be incontinent for the rest of his life. He's home now, very swollen, resting, & plans to host a second seder tomorrow night.
